Matansa Football Club and Paire Football Club recorded contrasting victories in the Intermediate Division games in the Dove Women’s Summer League 2021 last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Matansa eased past Southern United FC in the first game, 6-2, while Paire edged Kanoa in the second match in the division, 1-0.
Alyssa Pourmonir made the lone goal for Paire when she hit her target in the 25th minute of the match.
In the other match, Alleny Tenorio delivered a hat trick for Matansa, which drew one goal apiece from Tawny Barcinas, Wasana Gregory, and Bunruang Brasuell. Tenorio lit up the board first with her goal in the 13th minute, while her last two were recorded in the 28th and 42nd. Barcinas, Gregory, and Brasuell scored in the 21st, 35th, and 40th minute, respectively. Angel Roligat tallied the pair of goals for Southern United, earning her first in the 25th minute and the last in the 44th.
NOVICE DIVISION
Paire-1 2, Matansa 0
Paire-1 notched their first win in the division after outclassing Matansa last weekend.
Pam Walsh and Astrid Poole handed Paire the twin goals with the former drawing first blood in the 17th minute and the latter scoring 26 minutes later.
In the other match in the division, TanHoldings and Kanoa settled for a scoreless draw.
MEN’S SOCCER SUMMER LEAGUE
Island Star 3, Shirley’s 2
Zhi Peng Lin and Zhixiang Linn lifted Island Star to a close win over Shirley’s last Friday.
Lin bagged a pair of goals, getting his first in the seventh minute and the second in the 53rd, while Linn found his target in the 22nd minute.
Jin Zhi Guang converted a penalty shot in the 18th minute for one of the two goals for Shirley’s, which got its other goal from Irish Pagarao in the 64th.
