Kanoa Football Club kept its slim lead in the girls U16 division of the 2019 NMIFA Fall Youth League after beating MP United, 6-2, last Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Lynzey Green and Desiree Decena scored two goals apiece for Kanoa, while Khristelle Itaas added one to lift their team to a 7-1-0 win-draw-loss record—just one win ahead of TanHoldings. Kanoa, which got an own goal in their game against MP United, has to games left in the double-round robin competition and a victory over Southern United tomorrow will boost the squad’s bid for the division title.

MP United, which dropped to a 2-0-6 mark and is out of contention for the season championship, drew its two goals from Jin Hee Woo and Stephanie Kim.

In other results in the division, TanHoldings and Southern United defeated their respective opponents.

TanHoldings walloped Shirley’s FC, 14-0, to keep its division title hopes alive.

Mary Joy Aniana led TanHoldings’ lopsided victory after firing four goals.

Southern United also eased its way to win after routing Matansa, 15-1.

Keisha Deleon Guerrero delivered four goals for Southern United, while Pia Ngewalk logged the lone goal for Matansa.

BOYS U15
Kanoa 3, Matansa 0

Kanoa is in the race, too for the boys U15 division title, as it remained on top of the team standings after shutting down Matansa.

Kanoa now has a 5-1-0 slate, one win ahead of MP United and two victories up against TanHoldings. Both MP United and Kanoa have two games left in the double-round robin contest, while TanHoldings has three remaining matches.

Markus Toves registered a brace for Kanoa, while Sean Gil posted the other goal for the leading squad.

MP United 11, Shirley’s 2
MP United remains a threat to Kanoa’s season championship bid, as the former notched win No. 4 after crushing Shirley’s.

Dylan Mister handed MP United four goals, while Andy Kim contributed three. Raful Robalt and Gabriel Arkoh scored the two goals for Shirley’s, which is still winless in the competition.
