MP United Football Club cruised to an 8-3 victory over Matansa-1 in the masters division of the 2019 Dove Spring Women’s Futsal League last Sunday at the TSL Sports Complex.

Laarni Zapanta starred in MP United’s rout of Matansa-1 after scoring five goals. She delivered the winning team’s first two goals after finding the back of the net in the seventh and 12th minute, while her last three were also scored in succession, as she lit up the board in the 43rd, 46th, and 50th minute.

Besides Zapanta’s brace, MP United also drew a pair from Chiharu Sato and one from Aimee Quito Weiss in the first half to pull away early. Matansa made only one goal in the first 25 minutes of play, courtesy of Neng Aldrich’s shot in the 10th minute. Ivan Claire Gozon registered the two other goals for Matansa, as she hit her target in the 41st and 42nd minute.

In other results last weekend, TanHoldings and Matansa-2 engaged in a scoreless draw, while Kanoa got a free win over Topnotch (forfeiture).

Meanwhile, there will be no games in the masters this weekend and Sunday’s matches will be rescheduled to June 30. Then in the second game at 5:15pm, Matansa-1 will meet Topnotch, while in the last match at 6:30pm, MP United will duel Kanoa.
